The Dojo Project's

purpose is to alleviate poverty by creating a space and format where people can use the Japanese concept of Doa (道) to alleviate poverty. By reconceptualizing one's approach to this problem by using, accessing and creating knowledge with an ethic and an aesthetic that have characteristics of specialization, transmissivity, normativity, universality, and authoritativeness. Hence the name Dojo Project.

The Dojo Project seeks to do this in two ways. One, by creating a space where creative people can place them selves in a environment that uses this concept to give them focus and an ethic that will help them think out of the box to create new solutions and innovations to solve problems. Two, by establishing a catalogue of new design innovations that will help governments and NGOs in developing nations alleviate poverty.
